Spray Paint and Stain

I'm back at the spray paint and stain again.  Seems like I keep finding more things to redo. lol

I've had this tiered basket tray for quite sometime, and a while back I sprayed it white.  That just never seemed to go, so it was time for a change.

I was out of ORB, so I grabbed the can of black and gave it a quick coat.  Not sure if this is what I wanted or not.  I may have to redo it.  When it is dry, we will see.

As usual I forgot to take a before picture.  This was a teal and white pitcher that I've had for quite a while.   It didn't go with anything I had, so I got out my bright yellow spray paint and gave it a coat.

Next I sponged some dark walnut stain on and then wiped it off quickly leaving it in all the lines.  It turned out with a checker board look.  Kind of fun.

After that dried I gave it a couple coats of Crystal Clear for some shine.

Of course I had to play when it was all dry.  It has a really old look to it.  Kind of a dirty mustard color.

I never know what something is going to look like, but if I don't like it, I can just paint it again.

I put it in the island vignette for now.  Different for a change.  I love old pitchers and jars, so I like the look since it looks old.

Fun day just playing.  I am going to have my granddaughter here for a few days so I will be visiting and running around with her.  I will check in when I can.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Do You Like To Mix a Lot of Patterned Fabrics

I love to use a lot of pattern in a room, but it seems like some people are afraid of it.  I think the more the merrier.

I love the colors in the Iris pillow, and I finally got the solid orange pillow done, then I found the plaid and just had to have some of it too.  The lime pillow I found at Walmart on sale for $9.    I think it all mixes together really well.

This is the other side of the sofa, with another accent pillow in an orange windowpane design and a solid lime green.  Notice that there is a different orange and gold pattern on the table.

This may not be for everyone, however I really think it is so much more interesting to look at.

There's also a patterned fabric on this chair.

Two different fabrics on the pillows on this sofa, and a different pattern on the leather chair.

Did you notice there are two different fabrics on the drapes also, and how about another fabric on the ottoman.  (Yes, I am still housing two sofas in the living room.  Hopefully the one in front of the windows is going to the familyroom soon.)
So how many different fabrics do you think I've used in this room?  Let's count -
    Pillows - 9
Table Topper - 2 ( you can't see the underskirt in the picture)
    Ottoman - 1
    Accent Chair - 1
    Drapes - 2
    Total of 15

That doesn't include the alphabet design on the white chair, or the sculpted chenille pattern on the sofa.  So if we include those we have a total of 17.
So, if you don't like the look of your room, just try mixing a few fabrics together and see if that brings it to life.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really look forward to your visits.

32nd Table Top Tuesday-Antique Looking Clock

Welcome to the 32nd Table Top Tuesday!!! I am so excited you are here and can't wait to see all of your new table top displays. Remember that any surfact counts, tables, mantels, bookcases, shelves, kitchen and bathroom counters, coffee tables and just about any surface you can find to decorate.

Last week I showed you my latest thrifty treasures from GW, so of course I had to play. I love this clock. It's not old, but it looks old and I liked the frenchy style. For $3.99 it had to come home with me.

My leather bound Bible, the little antique book I found in Calif. and a couple of other things pulled the vignette together.

This is a little Victorian magnifying glass. Ladies wore these on a chain to the opera to read their program or to be able to see a Calling Card clearly. Very fashionable at the time.

I love finials and this one is rather ornate, so I thought it went with the clock.

Love the ornate details of the clock.

Fun for a change. This is my favorite place to read my Bible, so now it is right by my favorite chair.

I also thought that my two marble orbs worked perfect for this small table. They were $2.24 with the 25% off.

Love them, they do have such great character.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits.

Be sure to link up below so we can see all of your wonderful vignettes.

Fall for the Bathroom

Time to take the shells out of the bathroom and add a little fall color.  Our bathroom is not all that big and I like to try and leave the counter as clear as possible, but I still want a little decoration.  I took the cloche out with the shells and replaced it with a ginger jar filled with fall color and a wonderful scented candle.

Adds just a touch of fall without taking up too much space.

A few feathers, beaded grass and fall leaves all work well with the one hydrangia bloom.

The ginger jar is one I found at a thrift store years ago.  I loved the colors.  The candle sits on a gold coaster.

I love this picture.  It has the most wonderful fall scene, and looks so peaceful.  I switched out the towels to a rusty orange color and that was about all that was needed.

The tissue holder, clock and lotion dispenser are all ones that I sprayed with ORB a couple of years ago.  Everyday necessities.

Simple changes, but it speaks a little of fall when you walk in.

Accessories for the Bathroom

I just received a gift from Moen that is so useful and versatile.  Towel Bar Hooks.   Wonderful to hold a travel bag for the guest bathroom, so all of their toiletries can hang on the towel bar and not be laying on the counter.  So many other uses too.  They sent me these to do a product review, and I love them.  Very heavy and substantial and they have a rubber disc that holds them securely on the towel bar.

It's always fun to upgrade the small details of our bathrooms.  I have been looking at their large selection of Mirrorscapes.  I really like the big mirror in our small bathroom, but having a lovely frame around it would be another upgrade.  Right now they have all of the frames on sale at 1/3 off.   They have a huge variety of shapes and finishes to choose from.  If you are thinking of framing your mirror, you might take a look at all of their choices.  The prices are quite reasonable.

Moen is not a sponsor of this blog, and I do not receive any compensation for this review other than the hooks they sent.   I just thought I would pass along the information.

So, how are you upgrading the small details in your batthroom?

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits.

My Dining Table Has A Secret

Today I am joining Laurie @ Bargain Hunting and Chatting with Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday's.  Be sure to visit her to see all of the other participants.  Some fun and fabulous eye candy.

You've all seen my table with dozens of tablescapes, but did you know it has a secret?

Right now it has this vignette as it's centerpiece, but it can be used in a totally different way.

It folds in half to become a Library Table or large Buffet Table.

See the hinges, it just folds in half and then slides back to the center of the trestle base.  How cool is that!!!

Isn't it a great Library Table or Buffet.  The size is perfect.

I used it as a Library table in a previous house.  Right now it is perfect for our Living/Dining combo.
I am also linking to Courtney @ French Country Cottage for her Feathered Nest Friday.    Be sure to visit her and find tons of inspiration for just about every space in your home.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.
