15th Table Top Tuesday - Living Room Reveal

Welcome to the 15th Table Top Tuesday. I can't wait to see everything that you guys have been up to.

I love my blue and yellow color scheme, however - - - -

I have been craving bright cheerful summer colors. Maybe it's hormones or something, so I decided to make a few changes and for now I love it. As I told you in my last post I only have $28.99 tied up in the change, so no big deal.

It really is bright and cheerful. It makes me happy.

All that fabric is now some fun pillows.

A new table topper and just a few accessories that I shopped the house for. I didn't buy anything new. One of my Faberge Egg plates in green, the little plant, candle holder and bird all came from the DT.

To save money, I just made a topper that goes to the floor instead of a new skirt. It takes a lot less fabric and looks more interesting I think. The fringe is some I had on hand and found for $1.00 yd, so I bought all they had at the time. I had just enough to trim the topper with about a foot left over.

The accessories could probably be better, but I didn't want to buy anything new, so everything came from just shopping the house. Another little plant and candle holder from the DT.

The same floral arrangement I was using. I just added some grass and berry stems I found at the DT and were in my stash. The cut glass hurricane candle holders were the ones I found at GW.

One of my decorator books that had lime green in the cover, a little bird from Michael's clearance aisle and a leaf plate with some green apples.

The dining table and buffet were changed out to some brighter accessories too.

The table runner is one I've had for a few years and the tall candlesticks add to the importance of the table with some yellow candles.

Flowers I already had. I try to buy things when Michael's has a sale and some of their larger stems are on sale for $l.00.

The bright yellow vase was a fun experiment. It was a cheap glass vase that flowers came in and I just spray painted it. It worked perfect. Now I am on the hunt for more glass to paint.

A really fun new look for so little money. Pillows make a huge difference. If you want to change your room, try some new fabrics, I think they work wonders. Pillows are by far one of the easiest sewing projects and can really change the look and feel of a room.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I always look forward to your visits.

Met. Monday-New Color Scheme Pillows Done

I am joining the gracious Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for Metamorphosis Monday. Be sure to visit her to see what everyone has been doing.

I showed this group of fabric that I found to do a complete makeover of the Living/Dining room. I was ready for some bright fun summer colors.

Well, here they are all sewn up. Love them. To stretch fabric I lined the Iris pillows with a yellow check. The Rusty/Orange pillow is one I already had from a different color scheme that I've used.

Scraps of trim were used to try and dress up the Orange diamond pillow.

All of the pillow forms were ones I already had, just took different pillow covers off, I've saved them for another day and another change.

Instead of making a whole skirt for the table, I just did a topper. Saved a lot of fabric and it still covers most of the table. The skirt underneath is a coordinating fabric to the drapes and goes well with the new topper.

I set myself a budget of $50.00 for the LR redo and I did really well.
    1 1/2 yd. Iris Fabric @ $6.99 yd. = $10.49
    l yd. Apple Green @ $3.00 yd
    l yd. Leaf Green @ $3.00 yd.
    1 1/2 yd. Orange for tabletopper @ $3.00 yd. = $4.50
1 yd. Orange diamond print @ $3.00 yd.
    2 yds. Yellow check @ $1.00 yd. = $2.00
    10 yds. cording @ .30c yd. = $3.00
    Misc. trim I already had.
    Total - -- - - - - - - -$28.99

I am still shopping the house for accessories. Come back for Table Top Tuesday and I will have the full reveal.

I am also joining Southern Hospitality for Thrifty Treasures.

Sewing & Baking - What are You doing?

My neighbor brought over about 25 peaches from her peach tree, so I thought I would do a really quick and easy cobbler.

Peel all of the peaches and cut up into bite size pieces in a bowl. Next add in either a little flour, corn starch or tapioca to thicken the juices a little. Add about a cup of sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla. Stir it all together and put in a buttered pan. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for approximately 20 to 25 minutes until it's all bubbly.

Remove the foil, cover the top with flaky canned biscuits. Sprinkle a little sugar on top of each biscuit. Leave uncovered and put back in the oven at 350 until the biscuits are golden brown. Serve with a dollup of whipped cream or ice cream and enjoy.

Easy as can be and just sooooooooo good. Your family will think you went to a ton of trouble and ask for more.

I showed you my fabric that I found for new pillows, now to figure out which ones to make how big, square, round, oblong, with trim or without and which fabric goes where. Ok, those decisions made, now on to the next step.

This one is going to be the table skirt.

Dining table cleared off and the machine all set up.

Trim and cording all gathered up.

Making the first cuts. Now the fun can really begin.

Well, this is what I am going to be doing all weekend. Hope you all have a super Blessed Holiday and I will see you for Table Top Tuesday. I will have Mr. Linky up Monday evening.

Thanks for coming by. I always appreciate your visits.

I Love Fabric - Creating New Color Schemes

As you have all seen, this is how my living room has looked for a while. All done up in blue and gold. Since I have a new lighter sofa, I am looking for something really different. Very bright and full of fun summer colors. So I had to go to my favorite store and start the hunt.

If you are like me and love to hunt for gorgeous decorator fabrics and rugs at discount prices, you really need to find a store like this. This is a fabric liquidator store. They only deal in bankrupt stock, discountinued or roll ends. Their rugs are gorgeous and you really can't beat the price anywhere.

This is just one small section of their rug inventory. I didn't want to take pictures of the others because there were a lot of shoppers in that area and I didn't think that would be too cool. As you can see it says $99.00. Most of these are 6 x 9. The yellow labels on the rugs are on clearance for only $50.00. Can you believe such a bargain.

Now we're going to start looking at all the fabric aisles. There are bolts like this on each side of the aisles, and there are 12 of these aisles. Look at the prices, beautiful decorator fabrics at $6.99 yd. Most stores you would have to pay 3 times that amount. Even JoAnn on sale is twice this price or better.

Every color and type of fabric you can imagine. Look way down at the end of the aisle and you can see big wonderful tassel tiebacks. These are $5.99 to $8.99.

More colors and types of fabric. I didn't take pictures of all the aisles, just the ones that didn't have a customer in them and just to give you a sample of all the wonderful fabrics.

Now this is a section of the store that just has clearance bankrupt stock. $3.00 yd. for 54 inch wide decorator fabrics. This shows a ton of cottons, outdoor fabrics, linens and all types of weaves and patterns. You have to pull out tons of bolts to see what's in the back.

Still in the clearance section. Chenilles, velvets, brocades and plush fabrics of all kinds, and these are $3.00 yd. too. You can also see more of their rug section. These are the 8 x 10 and 12 x 15 sizes. They cost $149.00 to $199.00.

A view at the other side of the clearance section. Just look at all the wonderful fabrics.

This is what I came up with. I fell in love with the Iris print fabric. So cheerful.

Enough for pillows and a new table topper and the whole color scheme will be different.

Mixing some of my new fabrics with some I already have, I can create another different color scheme.

Still another one. I am really loving the apple green color.

If I look around, I probably have a few more fabrics that will coordinate with my new ones to create still another color scheme. I LOVE playing with fabric. Ok, I'm sure you can guess the sewing machine is going to be going in high gear for a couple of days. I can't wait to have a whole new look.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits.

14th Table Top Tuesday - Dreaming of the Beach

Welcome to the 14th Table Top Tuesday. I can hardly wait to see what everyone has created. You are all so clever and I always get a ton of ideas from you. Thanks so much for joining the fun.

Don't you absolutely love it when a package comes in the mail. I am just like a kid at christmas I get so excited. This is a box from Mary @ Boogieboard Cottage. She had this fabulous giveaway and I WON!!!!!

Just look at all the wonderful goodies in this box. It's a perfect trip to the beach.

Of course I immediately had to arrange a vignette with all of it. It's perfect in the bedroom with my pretty aqua colors.

Look at that beautifu Beach sign with the ceramic starfish as the top of the A. Isn't that the most clever idea. Then see the beautiful card with the birds. Mary made that. That's the card she put in the box, but I just had to put it on display, it is so 3 dimensional and just fabulous. The wire shell if full of the most gorgeous shells and potpourri and it smells heavenly. Love the wonderful starfish she included too. I put one of her candles in a shell tealight holder I had. As you can tell, I've been burning it. Smells yummy.

I really didn't need to add anything, but I thought a little grass and some seaglass and shells made it look a little like the beach.

We're having our first 100 degree weather, so this is such a delight to look at and dream of the cool beach breezes.

Thanks so much Mary, I love all of it.

Thank you all so very much for the heartfelt comments and blessings you left on my previous post about God's Miracle. I am so thankful and I hope you were reminded that God is always in control and He knows the beginning and the end. Faith and Praise can help carry you through. We have been blessed beyond anything that we could ever dream or imagine. He is so Faithful to His Word. God Bless.

Be sure to link up below and please link back to this post so everyone can find you. I can't wait to see your beautiful vignettes and be inspired.
