28th Table Top Tuesday - Fall Living Room

Welcome to the 28th Table Top Tuesday. With so many of us thinking and hoping for fall to get here in a hurry and all the very hot weather to be gone, I am sure there will be tons of inspiration with all of your new table tops. I can hardly wait.

I am so ready to bring in a little fall. Some small subtle changes have started in the living room.

A small ivy in an italian pottery pitcher and hurricane replace the vase of sunflowers. Everything else was there already.

I found a pair of these hurricanes at the GW. Love the large size. I filled the bottom with a few coffee beans, then just added some fall leaves around the candle. A little burlap ribbon tied around the base and it was done.

Nice change of pace. Remember hurricanes work for the Fall Cloche Party on Sept. 17th. Click the button on my sidebar for details.

On this side table I replaced all the white birds with a plant and 3 candlesticks. The orange candles add a little warmth to this corner.

A candle in a hurricane, stacked on a couple of books replaced a plate that was on a stand. That's all that was needed to change this table.

You don't have to do a lot to make your displays look different from one season to the next, or in my case every few weeks. I like to shuffle my things around for a different look. It keeps me interested. lol

Sorry the sun is such a glare, but at least it has cooled off just a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Be sure to link up below. I look at everyone and I am always inspired.

Makeover Sneak Peek

Sewing machine is out and I am sewing. Four pillows down and more to go.

Love this fabric. Stripe for a tablecover, blue for some accents and a whole new color scheme.

My pretty dining table centerpiece is at the end of the table. Got to finish and clean this mess up.

Hope you are all having a super weekend.

Dining Room Redo

This is the arrangement that has been on my Dining Table for some time.

Then I won this wonderful burlap runner from Sissie @ Sissies Shabby Cottage so of course I had to play. I scrunched the runner so I could show off the ruffle and the Bon Appetit.

Then I tried to find things that looked frenchy to go with the runner.

A frenchy pitcher, some silver, a white tray and candles.

A frenchy compote and old world flatware worked. A dove, some tassels and look at the cute little Paris tag she included.

A casual bouquet with such pretty colors.

Don't you just love this gorgeous runner. I am so thrilled. It is even more beautiful in person. Thanks again Sissie.

While I was at it I did just a little tweaking of the buffet. The tall finials and a plant are enough with the soup tureen. Adds just a little more color.

    I am linking up with:

Foodie Friday - Homemade BBQ Sauce

Today I am joining the gracious Michael @ Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday. Be sure to visit and see a list of all the participants and I am sure you will find some fabulous recipes.

I am also linking to a new meme hosted by the lovely Vanessa @ Southern In My Heart for Inspiration Friday. Be sure to visit her and see what is inspiring everyone.

I always make our BBQ sauce, it is so easy and can be seasoned just the way you like it. We just had some BBQ'd pork chops and I thought I would share a basic recipe with you.

The basic ingredients are mustard, ketchup, lemon juice, tobasco and soy sauce or teriyaki sauce. Not shown but basic is brown sugar, garlic powder and salt and pepper.

I just start with a squirt of mustard.

Then about 3 times as much ketchup.

Then a dash or two of lemon juice, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and tobasco along with a generous amount of brown sugar. Next, I add garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Just keep tasting and adding until it is just the way you like it. So easy.

Spread a generous amount on your meat, then place on the barbeque and cover the other side with a generous amount also.

It carmelizes to perfection and is soooooooooo good. My family loves it. Much better to have the taste you like than what someone else put in a jar.

I hope you enjoy, and thank so much for visiting. I always appreciate your visits.

This Week's Thrifty Treasures

Garage sales were a little disappointing this week. Only found one worth stopping at. I found this really cute little pitcher for $1.50. It will hold a full quart, so it is bigger than it looks in the picture. I always need another white pitcher, right?

Since garage sales were a bust, I headed for my favorite discount fabric store and found another gorgeous piece to mix with my main pillow fabric. The orange is my base fabric, and I have a solid navy, lime green and some more oranges. I wanted another pattern in the mix. This navy and cream will be perfect and for just $3. yd. I had to have some. It's a beautiful P.Kaufmann heavyweight silk blend fabric that I saw at another store in a different color for $39.99 yd.

Since Ross is close to the fabric store, of course I had to stop there. Love this really cute lime green chicken. I know, I am really into lime and orange.

But, isn't it just the cutest thing and so bright and cheery. It's so different too, not your normal chicken.

For this price, I just had to have him.

One more block away is Hobby Lobby, so why not stop there too. All of their fall decorations are on sale for 50% off. Well, of course I just had to bring this little white guy home. So cute. He was $4.

That's it for this week. Thanks so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your visits.

Rooster Problems

Remember this cute little rooster I found at goodwill that looks like the brother to my big one. Well, I had my pan of hot soapy water and I was cleaning the kitchen as usual and this little guy got all sticky. The more I scrubbed, the more his finish started coming off. I found out his stain was really yucky kitchen grease, or at least I am guessing.

Now I am not a clean freak, but I am a fanatic about a clean kitchen and I just couldn't handle that, so I got out the Soft Scrub and really started to scrub. When I got through, it was totally white, no glazing at all. Really looked sort of sad.

So out came the stain and I got busy trying to give this little guy back a little character.

Ok, not too bad, still needs a little more playing with.

That's much better, but the base is way too yellow. Got to work on that.

A finish coat of clear to match the big one and I called it good. Now I know it is clean and he shines like his big brother. Much better.

I am linking to Transformation Thurs. @ The Shabby Chic Cottage.

Also just a small reminder about the Fall Cloche Party on Sept. 17th. , and don't forget the Barnyard Bash on the 10th. Details and both buttons are on my sidebar.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really enjoy your visits.
