Yellow Roses-Fresh Cut Friday

I am joining Liz @ Rose Vignettes for Fresh Cut Friday.  Be sure to visit her and see all of the gorgeous bouquets everyone has arranged.

My yellow rose bush has finally started to bloom and so I just had to cut some buds and bring them into the house.

Yellow roses are my most favorite flower ever.  I adore them.  These roses are such a beautiful color with bright yellow and a little bit of peach on the tips.

Just a few snips of buds placed in an antique pressed glass sugar bowl, but how happy it looks when you pass by.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Table Top Tuesday Highlights

You guys are unreal.  We have had so many fabulous vignettes and  inspiration displayed at the Table Top Tuesday parties.  Each week I just drool over all of them.  Thanks also for so many joining.  That makes it so much fun.  I am still making the rounds, but here are a few that caught my eye.  I know you will love them all.

I love everything about her house.  Look at this fabulous PB Inspired vignette.   I love this beautiful chest and just look at the dough bowl, books and flowers.  She even did a beautiful vignette under the chest.  You really have to go check out Confessions Of A Plate Addict, her home is to die for.  Besides, she is also one of my dearest friends in the whole world, and such a very special lady.

If you havn't visited Pickets Place you are missing the most wonderfully decorated home you will ever see.  She is so creative.  She replaced the kitchen island with a table and chairs.  How fabulous is that and just look at all of her vignettes.  Drool.  She is the sweetest and dearest person, and you will love reading her blog.  Full of love, hope and blessings.

You know how much I love silver and look at the beautiful bouquet arranged in the champagne bucket. Just look, there are apples in the base of the arrangement.  You need to go see the whole tablescape at Mr. Goodwill Hunting.

Wait until you see all of the stunning Easter vignettes.  She has created so many beautiful ones and she uses the most wonderful vintage items in her displays.  Be sure to go visit Sunny Simple Life, I know you will find tons of inspiration at her blog.

Just look at this gorgeous vignette.  White and glass and it is absolutely stunning.  You definitely want to go check out Olive Out. She is always so creative.

This is so simple and yet it just grabs your attention.  I love everything about it.  I always overdo, and the simplicity of this is a great lesson that sometimes less is more.  Go check out this lovely blog at

I love her laundry redo.  So pretty and she's used some beautiful vintage items in such a creative way.  Such a talented lady, so don't miss Common Ground.  You will definitely find a ton of inspiration.

Look at this fabulous garden setting.  Wouldn't you love to sit here and enjoy the outdoors and a wonderful refreshment.  I love the use of the spindles for candlesticks and all the architectural elements.  Unreal.
You really do have to go see Home Is Where The Boat Is.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

58th Table Top Tuesday

Welcome to the 58th Table Top Tuesday.  You guy are unreal.  I am always so inspired by your gorgeous vignettes.  Thanks for joining the party.

I showed you this little piece that I found at GW and how I aged it a bit in my last post.  I was so pleased to find that one of my cloches and a hurricane fit perfectly.  Now time to play.

I love how a little dark walnut stain works on metal to give it a little age.

I decided to use the hurrican with a candle and create a little different vignette on the small table in the LR.

What a great piece to give a really elegant look to a simple glass hurricane.

A small ribbon and a couple of my eggs were all that was needed.

Just a simple vignette and perfect for this small table.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Redoing a Frenchy Pedestal

Sometimes you find just bits and pieces at GW, and that was the case this week.  This base was all by itself and I didn't see anything that looked like it should belong with it, but I just loved it, so I figured I could create something frenchy and old world.

25% off day, so for $3.74 it definitely was coming home with me.

I started looking through my stash of accessories and goodies and found this little glass dish that fit the base perfectly.

Then one of my cloches fit on top of that.  How fun is this.

I also had this hurricane and was thrilled that it fit the base perfectly also.

Only problem is the finish.  Just a little too goldy for me.

My favorite fix for almost anything is dark walnut stain.  I just know this will tone it down.

With a paper towel I just globbed a lot into all the crevices of the piece.

Then I took another paper towel and wiped all the excess off.  Much better.  I can't wait to create a new vignette with it.

What do you think it was originally?  I have no idea, but I am thrilled that I can use it in several ways.

Be sure to check out Table Top Tuesday and see how I used it.

My Frenchy Tray Redo Tutorial

I showed you my tray redo and vignette on Table Top Tuesday.  I thought I would show you how easy it was to do.
I started with an inexpensive tray that I've had for a while.  I love the shape and size of this tray, but the bright white just doesn't work in my house.  I showed you this first part in a previous post.

After a light sanding, I sprayed on a couple of light coats of a pretty yellowy/gold color.

When it was dry I gave it a good sanding for some age.

I used Minwax Walnut stain and applied a light coat and then wiped it off. Not enough, so I gave it some more.

I left as much as possible in the carving for contrast.

The Graphics Fairy has tons of labels, signs and pictures to choose from.  I found this French Chocolate label and thought it was perfect.  I printed it out to the size I wanted.

I then burned the edges to give it an older look.

I covered the back of the label with mod podge and glued it to the center of the tray.  Make sure to smooth out any bubbles.  I used a soft rag to make sure the entire piece and all the edges were glued down well.

After it was dry, I wiped on a couple of coats of glaze ( that I mixed a little chocolate paint into ) all over the piece and the back of the tray.  This gave it a little more of an aged look.  That was it.  The glaze sealed it and didn't give it too much shine, just a soft glow, so the piece still looks aged.

I love the new look.  Fun to make something new out of something you already have.

So many of you have asked about my grandson.  He is doing well.  He has started his rehab trying to move and bend his legs at the knees and ankles.  He is a real trooper and working hard to be able to get it all moving again.  Thanks for your continued prayers.
