Thank You, I am Sooooo Grateful

Thanks you so much for all your thoughtful prayers and good wishes.  I am so blessed to have you all as wonderful prayer warriors.  You will never know how grateful I am.

My MIL rallied a little today at the sound of her precious sons by her side.  What a Blessing from the Lord to see the power of a Mother's love when she heard her sons voices.  She woke up to see them all and each had a chance to tell her how much they loved her.  My heart was so full seeing the Lord's Goodness.  She has been moved back to the nursing home, and they have her on comfort care.  We were able to make all of the arrangements today also.

Since we were at the hospital most of the night and all day today, I am home now for a little rest and to fix something to eat for everyone.

This is what my living room looks like, and that's just fine by me.  I have already witnessed the Miracle of Christmas seeing her with her sons.  The decorations really don't mean much.  We have plenty of room in the familyroom, and time together is all that matters.

Again, I am so humbled by all your prayers and well wishes.  Thank you just seems so inadequate.  God Bless you all as you have Blessed me.

41st. Table Top Tuesday

Welcome to the 41st. Table Top Tuesday.  I am thrilled that you've joined us and can't wait to see all of your creativity.

My little village is very special to me.  My grandchildren picked it out when they were small.  I havn't put it up for a few years, but now with a Great-grandson, I thought it was time.

The Church and Bakers, with carolers, and ice skating on the pond.

The Butchers, and even Santa in front of the Candy Shop.

Children sleding down the hill of snow and they've even made a Snowman.

You see all of their little houses in the background, and shoppers are heading out to buy presents.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits.

I've Started - Way Behind

I am so far behind most of you with the decorating.  I did make a tiny start, the front door pocket.  I think I will do all the outside in white and gold this year, since the inside is always traditional red and green.  Just a few things that I picked up at the Dollar Tree and my GW door pocket.

The little Dove ornamnet is perfect to hang off the front.

The reason I am so far behind is this - A Pumpkin Pie.  We had Thanksgiving with friends and today we are having our family Thanksgiving.  So, I am knee deep in Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Candied Yams, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry Sause, Gravy and homemade Rolls.

Throw in a Chocolate Meringue Pie and we are all set.

See you all tomorrow afternoon for Table Top Tuesday.  Have a super Sunday!!!

Bathroom Redo - Cheap

Today I am joining Sunday Favorites with the fabulous Chari @ Happy To Design.  This is a post that I ran last year showing a bathroom redo on a really tight budger.  In fact for $28 total.  Since we are all pinching our pennies, I thought this was worth repeating.

    Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Today I would like to show you my bathroom transformation, sorry I don't have a before picture.. However since I think someone somewhere made a mold of this bathroom and gave it to every builder in the country and they just stamped them out by the hundreds or thousands, a picture probably really isn't needed. It's the standard big mirror, cultured marble counter, sink and tub surround with basic cabinetry and the cheapest faucet they could find. I have had my decorating skills challenged with having this bathroom in my last two homes.
With a new home and many projects that need to be done and the fact that my money tree is suffering from extreme drought and frost bite, I really needed to be creative. I started digging for accessories and decided a tropical theme would be in order. So armed with a plan I mixed 3 colors of leftover paint together for the walls, $18 for 3yds. of fabric for the drape, $5 for the bamboo rod, $3 for the tissue box I painted with a bamboo design, and $1 each for the soap box and mirror from the Dollar store. The clock and vase I had and the floral arrangement was made from remnants of several older ones. It may not be a remodel, but for now it will do and I really like the color and tropical feel that it has. Just another example of what we can do using what we have and using our imagination and a budget price of $28.00.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to link up Monday evening for Table Top Tuesday.

Time to Deck the Halls

I so hope everyone had a fun and Blessed day yesterday with all of your loved ones.  Our day was wonderful, and we all felt so blessed.

Just a few pics from Christmas Decor last year.  Time to get out all of the boxes and start in for this year. This is a look at my dining table last year.

Love this Santa, it was a special gift from many, many years ago.

We always do an old fashioned tree with ornaments from all the past years.  Some from my mom, mil and tons that my children and grandchildren have made.  I love every single ornament on our tree.

Throw in tons of lights and to me it is perfect.

I love this nativity scene, it was my Mil's and I am so thrilled that she gave it to me.  This is the display that I had on the buffet last year.

Ok, so let the fun begin.

40th Table Top Tuesday-A Home Tour

Welcome to the 40th Table Top Tuesday.  I am so glad you've joined us.

Today I am featuring some rooms from my daughter's house.  We have very different homes, but the same love of color.  She mixes a lot of traditional and contemporary together for a style that fits her perfectly. This antique screen  hung on the end wall is such a gorgeous focal point.

Isn't this chair exquisite.  The wood covers the back and rolls around the sides and down the legs all one piece.  Stunning.

This chair and ottoman are classics in distressed leather.

The other side of the room.  The artwork hung vertically and the mirror over the chest create such an interesting wall vignette.   Love the large hurricanes on the chest.

Her home has a very open floor plan, with all of the main living areas only seperated by columns. This is the console in her entrance hall. Such a pretty curved wall leading into the living room.

The ceilings are very high, and using a tall mirror with a large vase creates such a focal point on this angeled wall  in her dining room.  She just picked up gorgeous cream silk drapes for the window.

Her breakfast room table vignette.  How pretty to use the driftwood with the small vases and flowers.

I love, love, love her kitchen.  She used two different granite colors for the counters and backsplash.

I caught a glimpse of her coming into the kitchen.  It was her birthday and we spent the day playing and shopping for some things for her home. I was trying to take pictures around a house full of people that didn't want their picture taken.  lol  Hence the snacks on the counter.

She finally agreed to let me take her picture.   I think she is stunning.  We had such a fun day shopping and then going to her grandson's (my great-grandson's) soccer game.

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share a fun day with my daughter on her birthday.  One of God's special Blessings.

I sincerely hope that you all have a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.

New End Table

I'm still moving things around and trying to redo the family room.  One thing I wanted was a new end table, and I love the look of this one.  It's small and that is perfect for a small room, however it still has 2 drawers that will hold the TV guide, my glasses, nail file and all those things I like to have by my chair.  (Some mints too. lol) Great size to hold my favorite clock, a small plant, lamp and coaster for my drink.

I think the carving is so pretty.  Gives the table a little bit of class.

The perfect size to go between two chairs.  I still may move the other leather chair over to this side of the room.  Just playing and having fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Thrifty Treasure Finds-Tray Redo

Today I have a mix of new treasures and a vignette redo.  I found this wonderful plate at GW for $1.  I thought the colors and the flowers were so pretty.

This wonderful tin pocket was also $1.  I plan to create a Christmas arrangement in it for my front door.

This is just a piece of an easel, but perfect for what I wanted, and for 50c, perfect.

See how deep it is.  Perfect for stacking plates in.

This is the picture I showed you of my new tin that I stacked some plates in.  I didn't have anything to hold them, so they just sort of slid all over the place.

Now see how well they are all held in place with the easel.  Much better.

Plenty deep to hold several dinner plates and salad plates.  Now I don't worry they will get broken.

Now with the cooler weather, the iced tea has been replaced with lots of hot tea, so a new mug for my tea for .50c.  Love the big handle.

This is the shelf hanging in the breakfast room.  I loved that it had hooks for my collection of small white pitchers.

I found this lovely brown transferware pitcher to add to the collection. It was a real steal for $1.99.

This is the markings on the bottom.  Just a reproduction, but I loved the pattern.

I think it makes a nice addition to the collection.

Don't forget the Christmas Cloche Party on December 10th.  I can't wait to see all of your gorgeous creations.  Be sure to grab the button and spread the word to all of your friends.  These are always so much fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.
