Shopping with a Blogging Friend

Fellow bloggers are such a special breed of people, it doesn't matter than you've never met in person before, all it takes is 1 minute and you are sure you've known each other forever.

I had such a great day meeting up with a blogging friend and shopping.  She is definitely a soul mate in that she likes to sew and makes her own drapes, pillows and accessories,  so instant bonding.  She read about my favorite discount fabric store and wanted to go see what she could find.  Such a fun store and not only the greatest and largest selection of fabrics, but the best prices too.  All the way from $2. yd to $12. yd.  Plus they incoorporate such fun displays to give you decorating ideas too.

Cute display made with an old window frame.

It's always fun to see how they coordinate different fabrics.

The brown and turquoise is so pretty in this display.

This is my new blogger friend, Mercy from A Quest for Creating.  We had just entered the store and kind of got sidetracked at the rug section.  Like everyone, the first time you visit this store, it is just a bit over-whelming.

This area rug is gorgeous, such a great pattern and color and a 12 x 15 for $149.

A look at another section of rugs.

    And a few more.

Next, we started down all of the aisles drooling over all the wonderful fabrics.

Most of these fabrics were around $2. yd.

These were the colors that kept catching my eye.  Loved the soft camel tones.

And this is what I came home with.  Isn't this a stunning fabric and it is reversible.  Love it.

Can you see the beginning of a new color scheme.

Mercy bought the most gorgeous diamond pattern fabric for new drapes.  They are going to be exquisite.  Her colors were kind of a deep rusty/brown.

After that we went to another shop with some new, thrift and consignment things.  I didn't get any pics there, however when we got to the Hotel Furniture Liquidators, I did get a few.

Lamps anyone?  Most of these were $19 to $29 and they also include a shade.

Just a quick shot across some of the sofa.  They had leather sofas with lovely nailhead trim for $699.

Tons of chairs starting at $59 to $99, pictures, mirrors and furniture galore.  Mercy found a fabulous king size duvet and drapes for around $50.  They are such a fabulous pattern and beautiful material.  Here she is showing you a few of the shades you can choose from for you thousand or so lamps. (sorry the pic is blurry, she is such a cutie and such a fun person, I just had to show some of her personality)

A super fun day and I can't wait to do it again.

Don't forget the last day to sign up for the French Grainsack Pillow giveaway is Sunday.  Click on pic on sidebar to enter.
